The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it has enabled institutions to upload names of shortlisted applicants for 2020/2021 admission to its portal. The board stressed that all admissions processes must be approved through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
The Registrar of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during an interview with newsmen in Abuja.
According to him, only qualified candidates who have been recommended for admission by their institutions will be approved by the board.
He noted that most institutions, particularly private ones, had begun accepting students.
However, the registrar added that public universities had yet to fully kick-start the process, in part because they had yet to complete admissions for the previous year.
Prof Oloyede added, "It is also worth noting that admission is not limited to universities." There are polytechnics and colleges of education, and they are not affected by the strike, except for the closure due to COVID-19.
